Custom Refresh Rates
Clients using Organic Ads are able to set their own custom refresh rates at a global (organization) level and/or site-by-site. To do this, users should follow these steps:
-
Navigate to Ads/Settings/Ad Refresh Rates
-
Select a site from the dropdown menu
-
Select Set refresh rate (if a custom rate does not yet exist) or click on the existing rule if it does
-
Enter a new refresh rate (measured in seconds)
-
Minimum Rate: 30 seconds
-
Maximum Rate: 300 seconds
-
-
Click Set rate button to save
To remove a custom refresh rate, open the rule you would like to remove and click Delete rate. You will receive an alert asking you to confirm your decision.
Example: A client can set their organization up to have a 35 second refresh rate globally, but set one of their sites to refresh every 40 seconds. Site-specific refresh rates take priority over global refresh rates.
Advanced Custom Refresh Rates
For clients wishing to customize their ad refresh rates even further, advanced functionality allows users to definite refresh rate rules for:
-
Specific ad placements
-
Specific devices and OS
-
Various time ranges throughout the day
Example: We can set the refresh rate to 35 seconds for the Sticky Footer on a site when the page is viewed on a desktop running MacOS between the hours of 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM, while leaving the default refresh rate of 30 seconds for all other sites/ad placements/devices/times.

A separate enhancement is currently in progress to make the custom refresh rate creation process available in Ads/Settings/Ad Refresh Rates
