Additional information about the post can be set in the right rail dashboard, or post settings. This information includes category, tags, authors, featured image, excerpt (or subtitle, dek), and syndication preferences. Users will be prompted to fill in mandatory fields prior to publication; mandatory fields are determined by your organization. To edit mandatory fields, contact your administrator or Organic Customer Support.
Categories
See Categories for more information about assigning categories.
Tags
To add a tag, type the full or partial name of the tag and click the tag in the dropdown menu. In order to manage tag proliferation, tags may not be added from the post editor page. To change this default setting, contact your administrator or Organic Customer Support.
Internal tags
Internal tags can be added by a similar method. While tags are public and visible to readers, internal tags are used for analytics tracking by internal teams.
Authors
See Authors for more information about assigning authors.
Featured image
This image will appear in link previews on-site and off-site. If your site’s frontend template displays featured images on posts, the image will appear within the published post.
If your frontend template does display featured images on posts, this default setting can be overridden at the post level when needed. Navigate to Featured Image Options and select Hide from article.
To adjust the way the featured image is cropped in various on-site placements, click on the Featured Image upload, then click Edit Image Crops.
On the next screen, select a focus area within the featured image. By default, the focus area is set to the center of the image. Selecting a different section will result in differing crops in on-site placements.
Excerpt
Also known as the subtitle or dek.
